Travelling to our second day of conference found the LORD saying to me, “Don’t forget to pray (for the nation)”. There was a very real danger of time getting away on us, as can happen at conferences. So, I began our second day with prayer.

First, a declaration of God to the nation, “God, you are holy. God, you are love. God,m you are righteousness, salvation, splendor and beauty. God, we need you.” 

Then, regarding Burundi, “Father, we lift Burundi to you this day in the name of Jesus. We declare your name over this land and call all peoples to you.” And such, as Spirit led the prayer. 

Then, to my mind and spirit, a ‘witchcraft assignment of poverty’. 

I took my time, pausing some to listen well. It is important to discern the exact wording or name of sin and strongholds. I spoke it out and looked for confirmation (or not) from the inviting and hosting pastors. They affirmed with nods of heads. 

I’ve been an inner-healing prayer minster for twenty-five years. The healing of nations is no different than that of individuals. I led on. 

“God, today we come before you in the name of Jesus. Together God, we confess to a witchcraft assignment unto poverty, here in Burundi. God, we are sorry for any agreements with this.” 

As I began to speak this we (my translator and I) endeavored to relay, ‘We will do this together, follow our lead.’ 

But, the entire gathering of some 300 people immediately bowed their heads and began to pray. My translator turned to me and said, “I don’t know what they are doing!” Well, the Spirit obviously compelled the entire room to confession and repentance with an outpouring of hearts unto the Lord. We simply stood silent and let them pray. 

After about four minutes, maybe five, I said into my microphone, “Continue praying but I will also now pray.” 

“God, we renounce this day all and any stronghold of a witchcraft assignment of poverty, against Burundi in the name and the blood of our living Lord Jesus the Christ. We don’t know where or when this began LORD, but you do. We reach back to where this first began with the strong arm of our Lord Jesus Christ and we uproot all of it, carefully and completely, leaving nothing behind. 

We unwind all chains of a witchcraft assignment of poverty against Burundi, from off of the land and all peoples in the name of Jesus. We declare severed every link of every chain in the name of Jesus. Enough! You are done. 

To all authority, assignments, and curses of the enemy, due to a witchraft assignment of poverty, we say no more. You are now impotent, null and void, cancelled in the name and the blood or our Lord Jesus Christ. 

And to this witchcraft assignment of poverty against and over Burundi, and everything attached to it that the true living Lord Jesus Christ sees, all this must go right now to the place that the true Lord Jesus Christ would have it all go. Enough. 

With all glory and honour to God, and God alone. Amen.”
