HISTORY

1985 – ORIGINAL VISION:

A picture in my mind’s eye of preaching and praying in stadiums full of people in Africa

2000 – 2009: VISIONS, PROPHECIES, & PREPARATION

The Lord took me, Cyndy (in a vision, multiple times),  to a cliff overlooking rolling hills as far as the eye could see. each hill was covered in trees and he said, “Each tree represents a life whom your words will touch.”  This was followed by nine years of preparations, deep heart works, and trusting forward with the Lord.

“They preached with joyful urgency that life could be radically different; right and left they sent the demons packing; they brought wellness to the sick, anointing their bodies, healing their spirits.” Mark 6:12-13 MSG

2009 – 2011: BEGINNING

In January 2009 we launched Capturing Courage International. We began with Femininity Events, evening gathering as women to come to appreciation of being women. During these years we also hosted Femininity Renewal Weekends. About 50 women were blessed through these weekends while waiting for the release into the international work the Lord had been telling me about.

2011 – 2013:  INTERNATIONAL

My first international ministry trip was in 2011. I went to one country and to two communities. I stayed with the people. We shared together and ministered in two pastors conferences.

Capturing God’s Heart – Our topical Bible Study was going out monthly to about 20 countries.

  • 2011 – 2013 we were in Uganda three-times and Mozambique once.

2014 – 2016: WRITING

In October of 2014 I began putting together what has become our College of Capturing Courage. This was in direct response to many requests, “Cyndy, we want a Capturing Courage presence in the country even when you are not here. Would you please take what you do and put it into a course that we could learn from.”

  • 2014 – 2016 I was in Uganda four-times, India three-times, Philippines once, Pakistan once, and Kenya once.
  • 2016 we had our very first Teacher Training days for those wanting to use the course via their ministries and in their areas.
  • By this time I had ministered in over 300 village churches in 6 countries.

2017 – Mid 2018:  MULTIPLICATION

During 2017 we began to build our International Team at Capturing Courage. We brought on our East Africa College Co-ordinator as necessary response to the many invites for the course in Uganda and beyond.

I finished writing the college course and continued in earnest on the teachers manual, the testing, core learning outcomes, with requirements for certification. We continued with Teacher Trainings for the course in numerous places within Uganda, testing and refining how to have these.

  • 2017 – 2018 I was in India twice, Uganda four-times.

Mid 2018 – 2020: PAUSE, TRANSLATIONS, PRODUCTIVITY

The latter half of 2018 to mid-2020 I was at home resting and restoring (from compassion fatigue) while working on additional writing requirements and projects. Meanwhile, our Translation Teams in India, Kenya, and Uganda have been working on Module ONE of our College Course into Telagu, Swahili, and Lugandan.

CCIM was at Vancouver’s Missions Fest for the first time. Then, I was off to Pakistan for 6 weeks in February and March 2019.

  • 2018 – 2020 Capturing Courage was at Missions Fest Vancouver, and in Pakistan for 6-weeks.

2021 – 2022: CANADA MISSION & HOME WITH MY DAD AND HIS CARE

The Lord had inquired of me, “How about we begin a House of Prayer?” I held this word in quiet and prayer for the remainder of that year, listening to know a further compelling of the Spirit of God, or not.

In early 2021 Holy Spirit instructed me to seek out an ancient well of the Spirit on Vancouver Island, as the place to establish a house of prayer. I proceeded to move from my apartment, put my things in storage, and then spent 9-weeks camping and touring Vancouver Island seeking, sensing out, an ancient well of the Spirit. (I was then back on Vancouver Island one-year later, for one-week’s time, to revisit the key connections and places that Holy Spirit had revealed and led me to.)

September 2021 – March 2022 I paused most things to care for my dad as his dementia was increasing.  A most blessed, challenging, and a great privilege from the Lord.

In early 2022 Holy Spirit instructed me to pray across Canada. Numerous things supernaturally came into place for this to happen and in the summer of 2022 I prayed, driving and camping, my way across the nation and back. 12,000 km’s driven, beautiful scenery, much prayer and seeking the Lord, driving to the end of my money nearly every day. A grand thing accomplished. May the Lord be Glorified!

  • 2021 – 2022 Canadian Ministry, on Vancouver Island twice, six months taking care of my dad as his Alzheimers increased (until he went into care), and then praying across Canada once.

2023 – TANZANIA

In April of 2023 I was in Tanzania for a couple of weeks, visiting the graduate students of our College of Capturing Courage. It was a blessed and peaceful time. And such a blessing to meet with those who had been completing our course to the bachelor level, over the previous 3 years.

  • 2023 I was in Tanzania and in much preparations for Kenya 2024

2024 – KENYA

As I update this page I am currently waiting to head to Kenya. Please keep this in your prayers and for a repentance and healing over the land. We wait on the Lord for his good timing. All for the glory of God.

15 Years of Capturing Courage International Ministries!

Capturing Courage International Ministries reached 15 Years in January of 2024! We give the Lord all the glory and the honor and bless his great name for all that we are privileged to be and do here at CCIM.
